I didn't forget about the photoblog, I just haven't been taking and processing many. This weekend I've forced myself to go through a lot of photos of me and a lot I've taken. So here's a big batch from Amanda's surprise bridal shower! We threw it for her at Dragoncon 2008 and it was a lot of fun.
Here's a collection of photos that we took of ourselves during Anime Boston. Our friend Lionel also took some stunning pictures of us, but I'm reserving that for its proper place on our cosplay website. You'll note the quality of these is pretty bad due to low lighting and inexperience with the camera.
Here are some attempts at pairing shots. Most of these involved me making the girls burst into laughter every five seconds.
This next set was taken with everyone wearing their sleep clothes from Princess Tutu. We were also slightly inebriated having celebrating winning an award with our Magical Play costumes earlier in the night:
Finally, I had the pleasure of meeting AstroBright, a superstar of the Tutu AMV community. (Very big fan of her work O_O) She and a friend were dressed as Princess Tutu characters so I took a little bit of time to get some shots of them.
You can watch her AMVS here, btw:

We didn't have a lot of time at Boston but I did what I could! Hopefully I'll get a greater opportunity to take pictures of her later since I love characters that can fight; there's SO much you can do with them!
To the left you can see Jade holding two copies of the best game ever, which we snagged while still at the convention! I'm about sixty hours in at this point, but there's no telling how long I'll end up playing this game... O_O
Here are the entries that I submitted to the contest! I was incredibly nervous about this whole experience, but I managed to win in a few categories! I can honestly say this is one of my happiest moments from the convention; I really wasn't sure that I could win anything. I'm still fairly new to photography in general so I don't know if I take pictures that other people enjoy; only that I enjoy them.
I decided to leave detailed description on the individual pictures rather than in this entry; that way you can read about a picture while you are actually looking at it on a fairly big scale.
Best Theme: #10
Best Black and White: #4
Best Composition: #5
I just entered the JACON contest with some of my favorite pictures taken this spring, but they have strict rules that you can't post any entry publicly. So I thought I'd show you a few of the pictures I processed anyways even though they didn't make it into the top 12. (These pictures are huge, btw.)
It was VERY hard to decide against this photo but I had another one I liked better with almost the same expression and I didn't want to oversaturate the group with Robin photos.
There's not really anything wrong with the picture, I just liked some others better. Also I was afraid perhaps I'm the only one who is so fond of it. =D
I like the way it came out, it's a very interesting photo to me. But not exactly contest worthy perhaps?
Another picture that amused me greatly: royal reading material!
I loved this cosplayer, she was truly amazing. And kind enough to let me take this picture of her.
I think maybe this is another case of a photo that really appeals to me but maybe not many other people. Also I didn't know her name when I sent out the entry, and that seemed kind of rude...
The day after Wade's party, we slept in, ate at Moe's, then crept over to Disney's part of Orlando for some entertainment.
Fantasia golf turned out to be really fun. Most of the holes were decorated really nicely and had sound effects and water hazards. Overall just a really fun time. The end score was quite close too.
I should also mention that each hole had its own poem which, when read aloud by Rob, only increased our entertainment.
Afterwards we went to Downtown Disney for some shopping and goofing around. Pictured here are two lovely Princesses showing off their self-made crowns.
We did more looking than shopping, but maybe that's because of the trauma caused by witnessing the new Princess STAR dolls (Sassy, Trendy, Always Right!) and the new Disney Princess Bibidi Babidi Boutique. Actually these two evils aren't really on par with one another. It's perfectly normal for little girls to dress up as princesses, but please don't buy them dolls who claim "Always Right!" as a virtue.
